Get this look! Susan Mayer

A few years ago in 2016, I re-watched the whole season of Desperate Housewives from Season 1 to 8. Yup! Binge-watching was one of the things I used to do and made a Blog about them as my appreciation of the series.

One thing that captured me was the interiors of the house, after all its about housewives. Basically, their house is mostly featured or shown.

For those who are no longer familiar with them, let me give you a re-fresh about them, They are a group of 4 friends, In Filipino slang, The Marites Group (circa 2002), who knows what going on around the neighborhood and their life is full of life’s drama mostly involving their lives and talking about them.

Client – Character Overview:

Client Name: Susan Mayer in her early 40’s (in 2002)

Personality: She’s klutzy and quirky; her offbeat personality reflects her creative side and being a hopeless romantic.

Background: She is an illustrator for children’s books. A recent divorcee in the first season and is up for a fresh start. Who then fell in love with Mike Delfino.

Interior Style: Eclectic Mix-matched American country

It reflects her creative, shabby chic, and romantic flair. Her home features bright, crisp white, and green colors that reflect her story in the first season. The style can be seen through the use of assorted fabric and upholstery in ginghams, paisleys, and florals to reflect her personality.

Area / Room: Open Area Kitchen- Dining

Here’s the area of her concern.

The House Needed to be updated since it has been in the same look since it was built in 2002. 20+ years had gone by and the kitchen needed an updated look to meet its needs and be functional.

She loves having a Dining Area around the Kitchen and at the same time a Breakfast nook where she enjoys her lone time that also serves as her preparation look.

She got a grown child and teenage grandchildren. She loves everything to be clean as possible without worrying about who and how it will be fixed.

She wanted to keep those feminine touches but in a subtle way.
